A lifelong dream has finally become a reality with the opening of my small independent bookshop in the heart of Bakewell in Derbyshire. Tucked down a cosy passageway, awaits Granby Arcade, the spot perfect for little independent shops and inside you will find us.

After a lot of thought and soul searching, 2026 felt like the year to take the leap on a dream that has long been pushed back with many excuse of it not being the right time; and in May of 2026, the dream finally became a reality as the doors opened to my shop. The name of the shop was decided as it truly is ‘The Next Chapter’ of my life.

We share page-turners, hidden gems, and literary delights for every reader, as well as carefully selected book themed gifts.

With a selection of new and pre-loved stories awaiting you in the shop, we didn’t just stop there with our selection; we also sell a range of book themed gifts (from cups to tote bags), reading and kindle accessories, and ‘Blind Dates With A Book’; to take the pressure off you when buying for the book lovers in your life.
